Is there some way to wirelessly ping the scanner?ĬANON PIXMA 620 WIRELESS SET-UP for LION MOUNTAIN LION. Why, then, can't I get a page off the thing unless I plug in the USB cable? Have I missed something here? That I can see the printer while not physically tethered to it would, I assume, tell me the wireless connectivity is there. I've never bothered to try and print wirelessly before because I figured it would take eons and be a pain in the hole to configure, and so far I think I'm right. It's not that I'm too far from the printer about 18 inches to be exact, the length of the USB cable. The Canon MP620 print queue shows up inthe Dock, Status says printing, and the horizontal blue and white barber pole progress bar is chugging along, but nothing happens. But if Itry to print anything, even a a page with a couple of words on it, nothing happens. If I unplug the cable, I still see my printer in System Prefs/Print and Scan, with a little green dot, saying Idle. I can print only if it's connected via a USB cable. ![]() And I just updated the Canon driver under Software Update Rather, have not bothered trying to use until now. I have a Canon Pixma MP620 that I have not bothered using until now.
